Registration Open for 18th Annual Tour Da U.P. Bike Tour!
Marquette, MI – Teaching
Family Homes of Upper Michigan (TFH) is now accepting registration for the 18th
Annual Tour Da U.P. bike tour that will take place Aug. 3rd -7th 2008. The 5-day
bike tour is a fundraiser for (TFH) that aims to tackle a different area of
the Upper Peninsula every year. This year the Tour is starting and ending in
Menominee, MI, traveling along the river up to the Iron Mountain area for two
nights and circling back down through the woods of Foster City, Carney, Stephenson
and Wallace. Several communities between the stops will also be involved with
this event. Lions Clubs, schools and community organizations will help to make
this tour a fun filled ride for participants from across the Midwest and from
as far away as Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Sixty five percent of the participants
return year after year.
The adult cost for the event is $375.00, which includes 11 meals, camping, support
vehicles, snacks, an official 2008 Tour Da U.P. t-shirt, and an opportunity
to help abused and neglected youth throughout Upper Michigan. A portion of the
registration fee may be tax deductible. Some participants have businesses sponsor
them on the ride to defray the costs.
For the last twenty-six years Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan (TFH) has worked to help children and families in crisis. We have been serving children and their families throughout Upper Michigan since 1981. Modeled after Father Flanagan’s Boys Town, TFH has changed lives and given thousands of children a better future. So often the children we serve have lived unimaginable lives. It is wonderful to see the transformation in these children. TFH helps give back to children their childhoods and, consequently, their future.
Sign up today for a fun filled experience that can help benefit the life of a child in the Upper Peninsula! For more information on Tour Da U.P. or TFH, contact Kristina Balzarini at (906) 249-5437 or log onto www.tourdaup.com
